Midas Resources History
According to online reports and filings, Midas Resources started its operations in 1998 led by Ted Anderson. Their offices were located in Eagan, MN.
Having begun his career in gold/precious metals sales around 1980, in 1998 Ted started his own operation called Midas Resources. He almost immediately started a radio syndication company, Genesis Communications Network (GCN). The two companies were functionally the same company, or more accurately, GCN was the marketing department of Midas Resources.
From 1998 to 2015 the focus of Midas Resources was physical precious metals delivery and traditional metal IRA business. Like many of the gold dealers in the past twenty years, bullion products, proof coins, and numismatic coins were popular. Ted Anderson used Alex Jones’ show on Genesis Communications Network to promote gold and Midas Resources. Rep. Jason Lewis (R-MN) repeatedly touted Midas Resources through Alex Jones and his Infowars network.
Since the end of 2015 clients have reported the company has been unreachable, phone messages and emails have not been returned. Midas Resources videos on YouTube are unavailable. The company is not a BBB accredited business any more.
In 2015 the State of Minnesota revoked Midas Resources’ bullion coin dealer registration and required the company to pay restitution to its customers and a potential civil penalty to the state depending on whether it completed restitution.
